Hey Swim Families,

While I know we’ve only swam 1 meet in the season, we are needing to look ahead towards the end of the season for planning purposes. The Atlanta Swimming Association (ASA) that runs our summer swim league holds a championship meet at Georgia Tech at the end of every season (https://asa.swimtopia.com/championship.)

This meet is an awesome opportunity for our swimmers to take part in something very unique. It is billed as one of the biggest youth swim meet in the world. It gives our young swimmers the opportunity to swim in an olympic pool! In my opinion, it is also one of the most fun meets for our team/swimmers. -- It is usually a smaller group, creating a family-like experience with the coaches, swimmers, and parents.  All swimmers are welcome! They select the 2 individual events they want to swim, which makes it personalized to them.  Swimmers this year will receive special Championship team swim caps.

We are slotted for the third session of the meet this year which will be held on Thursday, June 27 from 9:30 am - 1:00 pm. Arrival time is usually 7:30 - 7:45.  This is a timed final event, so our swimmers and team will compete with ~20 other ASA teams during our session. In every individual event, the top 30 finishers will receive ribbons, and the top 10 finishers will receive medals. Our team will also compete for team places/trophies.

We hope to have a large Shark showing at the ASA tournament!

Because this is an optional and extra event to our season, swimmers are responsible for their entry fees and SwimTopia tech fee ($45+3) and parents are also asked to volunteer during the event.
